"Information on bats is needed for management purposes. Since bats are migratory and likely hibernate in Alaska (AK), British Columbia (BC) or other jurisdictions, inter-jurisdictional management efforts are required. There is also a steady demand for information on bats by the Yukon public for education, interpretive programs, bat conservation (i.e., construction of bat houses) and the removal of unwanted bats from buildings. The primary objectives of the study were to conduct a systematic survey of the bat fauna of the Yukon to determine species composition and distribution." (from Introduction)
"A study was initiated in 1997 to determine bat species composition and distribution, daily activity patterns, migration routes and habitat associations, including roosting, foraging and hibernation sites (Slough 1998) […] The goals of the 1998 research were to continue the systematic survey of the bats of the Yukon." --from Introduction.
